In 1916 radio station 2XG (Highbridge, the Bronx, New York City) was the first to transmit in full audio instead of Morse code. In 1920 amateur station 2ADD began its broadcasts at Union College, Schenectady. In 1922, WGY became the first licensed station in the state of New York. Meanwhile, in 1921 from Newark, NJ began its broadcast service WJZ, now known as WABC Talkradio 77. The oldest television station in the world, W2XCW, began its broadcast service in 1928, and today is known as WRGB - CBS Channel 6.
